You know those Microsoft Office commercials are bad when...
...sportswriters on ESPN.com are mocking them. Check out these comments from The SportsGuy, in a new article about the NCAA tournament:
How many more times do we have to see the Microsoft Office guy celebrating in that commercial? 500? 1000? 10,000? Give me a rough estimate so I know whether to hang myself or not.
Think we can get Ed to throw up a slide with "The SportsGuy" as attribution in the next competitive briefing? <*snicker*>
In all seriousness, if you haven't followed SportsGuy's writing career, you might want to start. Unless of course you hate a snarky writing style, in which case...what are you still doing here?!? Heh...
I refer to SportsGuy as SG sometimes, but more often as BSG. See, he used to write under the alias "The Boston SportsGuy" for AOL's Digital City experiment. Sometimes old readers like yours truly refer to him as TAFKATBSG (The Artist Formerly Known As...). Yeah, he's got a little cultish fan club floating around. If it weren't enough that he writes about sports and pop culture, and does it with a smirk firmly planted on his face, SG and I went to college together.
Well, sort of. We both went to Alma Mater at the same time. No, we're not personal friends. I did read, and enjoy, many articles he wrote in the campus newspaper though. Which is why I was fascinated when a friend started sending me links to his AOL articles. I recognized the name, of course, but I wasn't *sure* it was the same guy. But then he mocked The Enemy and gave away the game. So, yeah, I've been following his writing for the past few years. Funny stuff. Highly recommended.
And now he's mocking Micro$oft on ESPN.com - good to know you can still count on fellow alumni to have their priorities straight. <*smirk*>
