Blackberry Pearl for -$.01?!?

My Treo has been misbehaving lately, so I've been looking at phones to replace it with. I saw several glowing reviews of the Pearl in the blogosphere, so I was debating between the Blackberry and upgrading to a newer Treo. Then I saw this. My eyes just about fell out of my head. So I hopped on over to Amazon and checked out the deal. Turns out it's for real. Total price? $49.99, with a $50 rebate. Yep, that's right, T-Mobile is paying me (yeah, just a penny, but hey, a penny is still coin of the realm) to take a Blackberry Pearl off their hands.

Unbe-freakin-lievable.

So I now have a question for the more knowledgeable Blackberry users: can I sync up my Notes calendar and/or my Google Calendar? I went with BIS, since work's not interested in giving me access to BES, so the calendar won't come as part of the deal. And, by the way, I assume one cannot use a Blackberry with both BIS and BES, right? I haven't been fully assimilated into the Crackberry hive mind yet, so I don't have all the answers I would usually have, but I couldn't pass up this deal and I wasn't sure how long it would last. Can any of the fully addicted among you fill me in? Point me towards the coolest Pearl customizations or apps or sites?

1 - Dont bother with google mail. Get yourself a FREE BES server for your Domino server, and get your mail, contacts and calendar right onto that sucker. For nothing!

Then check out my "deploying Domino Applications on the Blackberry" presentation. Its EASY!
